The Orthodox Tradition on Life After Death
?I consider that the end of this life should not unfairly be named death but salvation from death, separation from corruption, release from slavery, end of confusion, end of wars, dissipation of darkness, rest from weariness, alleviation of excitement, cover of shame, deliverance from passions, death of sin and, in a word, the boundary of all evils?, says Saint Maximus the Confessor.
We may find eternal life only in Christ and through Christ as is written: ?God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who has not the Son of God has not life? (I John 5, 11-12).
