Saint Hierarch Philaret (Drozdov) war the most remarkable personality of Russian theology of the 19th century. Rector of Theological Academy of Sankt Petersburg, teacher of Greek and Hebrew, he was involved in the translation and spreading of the Bible in Russian Language - until that time it being available only in Slavonic.
