On Prayer
Any Orthodox worshipper is called to utter the Holy Prayer. This commandment originates with the Holy Apostles, who urged us to pray constantly and rejoice always (I Thessalonians V, 16 – 17). For they had tasted the joy of Taboric light and were aware that eternal life in Christ is boundless joy, in which man leaves his fallen self and regains his original state, and an even higher one - that is, the state God intended for him from the very beginning.
