Introduction to liturgical theology by Schmemann, Alexander, fr. Schmemann, Alexander, fr.
Introduction to liturgical theology

Translated from English by fr. Vasile Barzu

Within the Orthodox neo-patristic synthesis and the liturgical movement of early 20th century, Father Alexander Schmemann is considered as one of the most prominent Russian theologians and one of the most outstanding authors of the synthesis between Orthodox dogmatics and worship. For the contemporary theology, he is one of the greatest Orthodox liturgists and perhaps one of the most profound Christian theologians, who provided answers to the challenges and spiritual issues raised by modernism and post-modernism. His liturgical and theological works may be compared to a continual liturgy, spanning all the Christian centuries, which he celebrated with his life, energy and especially his boundless love for his fellow people, as well as deep humility before the Triune God, in the most holy Church of Christ.
