Great Lutheran Reformers and the Orthodox Church. Contributions to the Typology of Orthodox Lutheran Relations of the XVI-th Century

Rev. Daniel Benga is an assistant professor of Universal Church History at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology from the University of Bucharest. Between 1997 and 2001 he got a research and documentation scholarship in Germany, offered to him by Diakonisches Werk Association. He also obtained two doctor’s degrees in theology from the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Bucharest in 2000 and in 2001 from the Faculty of Evangelic Theology in Erlangen Germany.
This work offers an abundant background of the relations between Lutheranism and Orthodox Church in the context of the XVI-th century. Besides the information and the valuable contribution that this work provides in the domain of Romanian ecclesiastical historiography, Fr. Benga's book is also a valuable contribution to the historical study of general relations between Western and Eastern Europe.
