Tikhon of Zadonsk, St.
God revealed in daily occurrences
Translation from Russian by Olga Bersan
Edited and foreword by L. S. Desartovici
Published 2011
Along the path revealed to us by St. Tikhon, which he urges us to take, the things around us and the daily occurrences may overcome the foreseeable, boring banality leading to spiritual routine and callousness, and on the contrary turn into sources of life and effort to seize with our spirit the mysterious world of divine contained in the human beings.
Since St. Tikhon’s teachings contained in his 146 parables are quintessentially practical – constituting a real spiritual school – an index of the things, attributes and events described by him has been drawn up, so that the book should be more easily used whenever one feels the need.
For better understanding of St Tikhon’s spirituality and life, the book contains both the life and the akathist hymn dedicated to this great hierarch of Christ’s church, whose holy relics have worked many wonders. Through spiritual struggle and the constant acquisition of the Holy Spirit, St. Tikhon joined those with pure hearts and peaceful minds even since his earthly life.
May the intercessions of the holy hierarch Tikhon enable us to repent so that with pure hearts we see the heavenly light, set by the Word of the Father in his creatures.
