He was canonized on 26 November 1987 and is considered one of the greatest Orthodox Saints of the XX-th century. He is the author of some writings of great spiritual power. His writings immediately convince and imprint forever on reader’s mind and soul. The studies which form the first part of the present work represent a modest extension of Archimandrite Sophrony’s exegetic approach. The second part of this book presents some letters written by Saint Silouan in the last months of his existence. The last of them addressed to Cyril – the future Archimandrite Sergius – Sevici, is also the last of Saint Silouan’s written texts.
