Family – the last bastion. Answers to youngster’s questions
Translated from Russian by Eugeniu Rogoti
What used to be inconceivable until not so long, has now become the norm for the contemporary world. Nothing, however, can change the Saviour’s words that “the gates of Hell will not prevail against” the Church established by Him. This will be our shelter to the end of times, a bastion not to be conquered by any enemy. Part of the larger Church is the small Church which we must build within our families, by our relationships with our fellow people, for it is the Lord’s promise that “where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them”(Matthew 18,20). And with Christ among these two or three, then the family built as a smaller Church, cannot be prevailed against by the gates of hell either, but it is our last bastion.
The present book tackles issues concerning marriage, relationships with children, relatives and friends, questions raised by the young parishioners of St. Tatiana Chapel of Moscow State University. These matters have been discussed with the parish priest of this students’ chapel, fr. Maxim Kozlov, a graduate from the Faculty of Philology within the respective University and a doctor of Theology as well.
