As a staretz, he attaches special importance to confession, to a heartfelt, tight relationship with his spiritual children, to the observance of evangelic commandments, and rejects todayā€™s Christians ā€˛lukewarmā€¯ attitude towards salvation. A gifted preacher, he is invited to participate in Christian TV and radio programs; he is noted for his rich publicistic activity on apologetic, catechetic and homiletic topics. He is well-known in the Russian ecclesiastic environment, and could be called a ā€˛Father Cleopaā€¯of todayā€™s Russia.
